Once upon a time, I had a full day to work with. When I was running my garage, I could wake up, and be in my shop around 7:30am or I would open it as late as 8:00am, then I would work the full day, and shut down around 5pm or sometimes a little later.
This would allow me to get all of my work done, and have filler time to work on personal projects, and to also sit a moment and take a breather if I liked. I was able to be hands-on, and it was possible to plan for events that would take me away from the shop from time to time.
Now that I work (a regular job) I only have about 2 hours to do the things that I need. I try to make the best use of them, but since I have to devote such a large block of time to my daily job, I am falling behind in projects, and am getting backed up with ideas.
It has always been a struggle, that when I have the time to work on my projects; I lack the funds, and when i have the funds, I don’t have the time.
Would that it were as it was in days of old, I could find some wealthy sponsor to be my patron, and they could share in the glory of my inventions, and successes.

Something artistic about this photo. I don’t know exactly what, but it stirs up an urge to follow in flight. To chase whatever this dove is looking for.
I saw no others here, perhaps the fowl is searching for its mate…

I snapped this odd pair of Pigeons on a wire yesterday, and when reviewing it, I could not help but put the little thought bubble up.

Yesterday I went into town a little early, looking to get a moment to write before I had to go to work. My schedule is easy right now, I have to be at work 10:30am, and so this always gives me a little free time in the mornings.
Sometimes I am in a creative mood, and when I am I use that time to write, and to research future projects.
As I was sitting there writing, I looked up, and there was my bike out the window where I had left it. (a good thing)
A snapped this photo, and thought of how many miles I have put on that bike, and how much money it has saved me in the cost of fuel over the years… So I got up, and looked at my cycle computer, and checked the Total Odometer miles: 6,320 miles over the last 4 years or so…
6,320 miles is a pretty long way. That is three cross country trips, (more or less) and lets see.. If I do that math…. If the average car gets 25mpg….6,320/25=252.8 gallons of fuel….Now fuel has gone up, and up over the years, so if we take a conservative average of $2.50 a gallon over those years that would be: $632 in fuel costs that I have NOT spent.
So since I have roughly $600 invested in the purchase of the bike, from here on out it is all paid for and free!!
So now I can look at the bike in a new light… It is free.

I have been a member of ‘Deviant Art’ for about 4 years now, and although i am not as active as i once was, I enjoy visiting the site looking for new and inspiring photography.
I also put up some of my own photos, and surprisingly I have gotten the most interest with a photo that I took in the fall of 2003 that is not even close to one of my favorites. The title of the piece is ‘Pirates’, it is a photo taken at a girls Winterguard show, and it was what I considered a mistake, it was out of focus, and at a slow sync speed, so the image is quite motion blurred.

I found a great blog yesterday: http://copenhagengirlsonbikes.blogspot.com/
From a city where 36% of people commute everyday on cycles, and where being a cyclist doesn’t require donning yards of spandex, and wearing ugly helmets, and face covering shades. Where the bike is as much an original part of style as any other part of the wardrobe.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
A term that describes the culture of everyday cycling in fashionable clothes. It is generally associated with the utility cycling practised in cities such as Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berne, Basle, Berlin, among others, where citizens practice a high level of bicycle usage. In many European cities, as well as cities in China and Japan, cycling is an everyday transport choice and many cyclists choose to wear their regular clothes, as opposed to outfits generally associated with cycle sport, such as bicycle shorts, gloves and shoes.
